My Story

Hi, I’m Dani.

Dani with her dog

A few years ago I traded my office job for working from home, and I thought I’d hit the jackpot. Cooking my own meals instead of grabbing takeout. Eating “healthier.” No commute. What’s not to love?

What I didn’t notice was everything that quietly disappeared with it.

All those stairs I used to climb a dozen times a day. The walk down the hall to a meeting and back. The trek across the parking lot every morning and every night. Gone. My whole day shrank down to a few steps from my bed to my desk, and I didn’t think twice about it.

The weight didn’t show up overnight. That’s the sneaky part. A pound here, a couple pounds there, so slow I could tell myself it was nothing. Months would pass. Then a little more. And one day I looked up and didn’t quite recognize the person looking back at me.

Let me be clear about something, because it matters to me: this isn’t a weight-loss story, and the number on the scale was never really the point. The scale was just how I finally measured a drift I’d been ignoring for years. What I actually noticed was my face. My midsection. The way my clothes fit, or didn’t. I didn’t feel like myself anymore, and I missed her.

Not smaller, stronger.

And here’s the thing. I’m not chasing skinny. Never have been. What I want is to feel strong. Lean, capable, comfortable in my own skin, the version of me I actually feel beautiful in.

Here’s what probably makes me different from the last person who handed you a plan: I’m not new to any of this. I have a sports and health science degree paired with years in the military. I’ve been running and lifting most of my adult life and I knew exactly what to do the whole time.

Knowing was never my problem.
Doing it consistently, inside a life that fights me on it, that was the problem.

So that’s what I’m working out now. Not how to train, I’ve got that part. How to stay consistent when your whole environment is quietly working against you. How to build something that survives a full week, a demanding job, and a work-from-home setup that would happily let me never move at all.

Maybe your version of this looks nothing like mine. Maybe it’s not a desk at home, it’s a career that swallows your day, a house to run, a partner, a dog who’s decided 5am is a perfectly good time to need you. No kids, but a full life all the same. The details may be different, but the story’s the same. Staying consistent through a busy life is the hard part, and it’s the thing standing between us and what we actually want.

That’s who EUMIE is for.

The name is “you-me,” and that’s the whole idea. I’m not standing at the top of some mountain calling down about discipline. I’m a step ahead on the same trail, turning around to say hey, this part’s tricky, here’s what’s working for me. Take what helps, feel free to leave what doesn’t.

I’m still in it, by the way. Still figuring it out, still having weeks that fall apart. I’m not going to pretend I’ve arrived, because I haven’t. But I’ve learned how to keep showing up, and that has changed everything.

So if any of this sounds familiar, come along. Let’s figure it out together.

Dani
